Linda Sue Ott, aged 74, passed away on July 9, 2025, while in hospice care due to complications from Multiple Myeloma. She resided in Lomita, California, where she was known for her vibrant personality and a life dedicated to both her career and her loved ones.

Born on August 24, 1950, in Indiana, Linda graduated from high school in 1968. Her academic journey led her to earn a Master of Divinity from Claremont University, an MS in Counselor Education from the University of Southern California, and both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Religion and Social Sciences/Psychology from Azusa Pacific University. This extensive education paved the way for a diverse career spanning education, financial consulting, and stock brokerage, among other roles.

Linda, affectionately known as “Lindy” by friends and family, enjoyed a successful career that included serving as a District Manager at World Book and as a Materials Donation Coordinator at Goodwill Industries. After retiring, she indulged in her passion for gaming, frequently visiting Las Vegas and Valley Center to play poker and slot machines. She notably achieved third place in the World Series of Poker, a highlight of her younger years that she cherished.

Despite her diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma in 2014, Linda continued to embrace life, participating in activities that brought her joy, albeit with some limitations. Her sense of humor remained one of her most admirable qualities, allowing her to uplift those around her even during challenging times.

Linda is survived by her wife, Debbie, along with numerous family members, including her brother-in-law, Mike Larkins; brother, Jerry Ott II; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerald Ott and Mary Lou Farnsworth, and her sister, Debbie Larkins, among others.

A small private gathering will be held to honor Linda’s life, where family and friends will remember her for her generosity, quick wit, and unwavering ability to make others laugh. In accordance with her wishes, Linda chose to donate her body to the University of Southern California Medical School, reflecting her dedication to education and helping others even in death.

Her legacy will be remembered through the love she shared with her family and friends, her professional accomplishments, and her resilient spirit.
