Retailers across the United States are gearing up for Cyber Monday 2025, introducing a range of deals enhanced by artificial intelligence. Major players such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and Kohl’s are leveraging AI-powered shopping tools to attract budget-conscious consumers during the Black Friday weekend. This shift in strategy is changing how shoppers discover products, moving away from traditional browsing methods.

According to Mike O’Donnell, senior vice president of innovation and business transformation at Flywheel, consumers are now using AI tools to assist in their holiday shopping. He noted that this new approach allows shoppers to find gifts that may not align with their typical purchasing patterns. “The discovery process, which historically may have started on Google or searching across retailer sites, has now been disrupted by the onset of Generative AI tools like ChatGPT and Amazon’s Rufus,” O’Donnell explained.

Cyber Monday Sales and Strategies

The Cyber Monday deals began as early as Friday and are expected to intensify through Monday night. While many offers remain exclusive to online shoppers, retailers are increasingly integrating app experiences and loyalty rewards to broaden their reach.

Amazon is hosting its Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday event from November 20 to December 1, marking one of the longest holiday sales periods for the e-commerce giant. With consumers feeling the pinch of inflation, Amazon has extended its holiday return policy through January 31, 2026, to encourage early shopping.

Best Buy is promoting its Cyber Sunday and Monday sale, offering discounts of up to 50% on various items. Similarly, Kohl’s is running its Cyber Days event on Sunday and Monday, where shoppers can earn $15 in Kohl’s Cash for every $50 spent. This sale will commence at 1:01 AM ET on Sunday and will feature promotions both online and in stores, including discounts at Sephora.

Target is positioning itself as a tech-forward retailer this Cyber Monday, introducing new AI features to enhance the shopping experience. Shoppers can engage in a curated experience directly within ChatGPT. The sale, which promises discounts of up to 60% on thousands of items, will run from 3 AM ET on November 30 through December 1, with select offers available in-store.

Walmart continues its Black Friday sale through Sunday, with early access for Walmart+ members starting at 7 PM ET on November 30. This early access allows members to shop online before the official launch of Cyber Monday deals at 12:01 AM ET on December 1.

Looking Ahead: Gift Card Promotions and Consumer Insights

In addition to product discounts, Target is reviving its popular gift card sale for two days, December 6-7. Customers can receive a 10% discount on gift card purchases up to $500, allowing for maximum savings of $50. Last year, Target reported that shoppers purchased approximately 6 million store gift cards during this promotion.

The integration of AI into the shopping experience signifies a notable shift in consumer behavior. As retailers continue to adapt to the evolving landscape, the focus remains on creating seamless experiences that cater to the needs of shoppers. With significant discounts and innovative technology, Cyber Monday 2025 is poised to be a pivotal moment for both retailers and consumers alike.
