The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a nationwide recall of dietary supplements containing moringa leaf powder due to a salmonella outbreak. This contamination is associated with at least 11 reported illnesses, including three hospitalizations, across multiple states. Consumers are urged to check their products and dispose of any affected items to avoid health risks.

The recalled products were manufactured by Vallon Farmdirect PVT LTD in Jodhpur, India, using ingredients from Batch No.: VFD/ORG/MORP/L/24. These products have a best-by date of November 2027.

Details on the Recalled Products

The FDA has identified several specific products linked to the recall. Consumers should avoid purchasing or using the following items:

– **Food to Live brand organic moringa leaf powder**, available in various sizes including 8-ounce, 1-pound, 2-pound, 4-pound, 8-pound, 16-pound, and 44-pound bags. The affected lot codes range from “SO-69006” to “SO-72558.”
– **Food to Live brand organic supergreens powder mix**, sold in sizes from 8-ounce to 12-pound bags, also with lot codes “SO-69006” through “SO-72558.”
– **Organic Moringa Leaf Powder**, packaged in a 1-kilogram box and sold on Africa Imports’ website after June 5.
– **Member’s Mark Super Greens dietary supplement powder**, which is subject to recall regardless of lot codes or best-by dates.

Where the Products Were Sold

The affected products from Food to Live were available nationwide in both retail and wholesale outlets. Customers could also purchase them directly from the company’s website, as well as through popular third-party e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, Etsy, and eBay. The Member’s Mark Super Greens products were distributed at Sam’s Clubs, both in-store and online.

Consumers who have purchased these products are advised to stop using them immediately. If any symptoms of salmonella infection, such as gastrointestinal distress, occur, individuals should consult their healthcare provider.

This recall serves as a reminder for consumers to carefully examine their pantry and supplement stocks to ensure safety. The FDA continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
