Kansas City Chiefs Game Delivers Thrilling Experience for Fans
A recent trip to Kansas City proved memorable for several fans attending the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Raiders. The group, which included Linda Malnar and die-hard Chiefs supporter Mandy Milam Harris, experienced the excitement of a live NFL game, complete with close seats and energetic crowd participation.
Before heading to the game, attendees took care of essential health preparations. At a local Walgreens, pharmacy technician Daniella administered COVID-19 and flu vaccinations, while pharmacist De’Marcus provided the RSV vaccine. Ernest, another member of the group, confirmed his last tetanus shot was in July 2020, while others updated their vaccinations as needed.
On the second day of absentee voting, the group visited a local polling place where they encountered community members including Charda Bronaugh and Dee Bennett. Voting workers Richard Martinez, Kimberly Thomas, Rhonda Doss, and Betty Dufner assisted voters during this critical civic duty. Ernest and his companion were the 128th and 129th voters, respectively.
Health check-ups were also on the agenda. Following a visit to LabCorp, where nurse Cynthia began a blood draw, Rhonda helped locate a vein for the procedure. This visit coincided with Sean Moran, the family doctor, conducting annual check-ups, where participants faced various tests, including spelling “World” backwards—a challenge for many patients.
The highlight of the week came at the game itself. Linda and Shelby Harris enjoyed their seats at row one of section 120, just behind the offense, while Mandy and Josiah Harris were seated in row one of section 118. The atmosphere was electric, with fans passionately cheering and engaging in battle cries for the Chiefs.
During the game, Shelby attempted to catch the attention of star player Travis Kelce with a sign, but he remained focused on the field throughout. Coach Andy Reid eventually pulled the starters in the fourth quarter, showcasing his strategic management of the team.
After an exhilarating game, the fans made their way back to Bullard, estimating their arrival time at 12:45 AM. This marked Mandy’s third visit to Kansas City for a game, underscoring her unwavering dedication to the Chiefs.
In addition to personal experiences, the community is urged to participate in a charitable event. The East Texas Food Bank is seeking 50 to 75 volunteers for its Holiday Food Box Distribution on December 1. The event will take place at the Angelina County Expo Center in Lufkin, Texas, from 9 AM to 2 PM. Various shifts are available for those interested in helping.
For those who wish to volunteer, contact Susie at (936) 676-6654 or Josh at (936) 240-6378. This initiative aims to support community members in need, providing an opportunity for residents to give back during the holiday season.
The week encapsulated a blend of personal health commitments, civic engagement, and spirited sports enthusiasm, highlighting the interconnectedness of community and personal well-being.
