Frankie Grande Undergoes Successful Cervical Spine Surgery
Frankie Grande, known for his appearances on “Big Brother” and as the brother of singer Ariana Grande, underwent successful cervical spine surgery on December 22, 2023. The procedure aimed to alleviate persistent nerve pain and neurologically related symptoms that he has been experiencing.
Sharing the news on Instagram, the 42-year-old expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he received from friends and fans. He posted a selfie from his hospital bed, stating, “Today I had a planned cervical spine surgery to relieve pressure on nerves in my neck that have been causing pain and neurological symptoms for a while.” Grande emphasized that the surgery went smoothly, with no unexpected complications.
The operation involved the removal of bone and tissue that were compressing the nerves, allowing for improved functionality of his spinal cord and surrounding structures. “The procedure went exactly as expected, no surprises, no drama, just very precise work by an incredible medical team,” he noted, highlighting the professionalism of his healthcare providers.
Following the surgery, Grande remarked on his recovery process. “Now comes four weeks of healing, rest, physical therapy, and being nicer to my body than I usually am,” he said, conveying a sense of optimism despite the discomfort. He concluded his post with a light-hearted holiday message, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas while acknowledging his current state of soreness and fatigue.
Support from Grande’s friends came flooding in through social media. Notable figures such as Gloria Estefan, Carson Kressley, and Deborah Cox sent their well wishes for a speedy recovery. Singer Imogen Heap commented on the news, expressing relief and joking about the holiday dinner preparations, to which Grande replied that his husband, Hale Grande, would take charge.
Grande previously shared how he and his family planned to honor their late grandmother this holiday season. She passed away earlier in 2023 at the age of 99. Reflecting on the upcoming festivities, he mentioned that they would make her traditional recipes, including meatballs and zeppole. “We have some ornaments that remind me of her, and there’s a picture of us that we’re gonna hang on the tree,” he noted in a prior interview.
As he continues his journey toward recovery, Frankie Grande remains hopeful, stating, “This is healing in progress.” He looks forward to returning to the stage and living life free from the pain that has affected him for so long. “See you soon… stronger, steadier, and standing tall,” he concluded in his Instagram post, resonating with a spirit of resilience and gratitude.
