Clara Barton Medical Center Enhances Mental Health Services Team
Clara Barton Medical Center has announced the addition of Kimberly Beary, a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker, to its expanding mental health services team. This move comes as demand for mental health care continues to rise in Barton County and surrounding areas. With Beary’s expertise, the medical center aims to enhance access to quality behavioral health support for individuals and families in need.
Beary will provide care for patients of all ages, focusing on a range of issues including depression, anxiety, stress management, relationship challenges, workplace burnout, grief, and personal growth. Having lived in the Great Bend area for many years, she brings over 20 years of experience in the field, previously working with children and teenagers in a psychiatric residential treatment facility, as well as with adult men through the Kansas Department of Corrections and Larned State Hospital.
She earned her Bachelor of General Studies from Wichita State University, majoring in Psychology, Sociology, and Religion. Beary later obtained her Master of Social Work from the University of Kansas. Reflecting on her career, Beary expressed the fulfillment she derives from being a trusted confidant for her clients. “I get to work with individuals of all ages, ethnic groups, and walks of life,” she stated. “It’s an honor to walk alongside them, even if just for a season.”
When discussing her motivation to join Clara Barton, Beary highlighted the center’s strong reputation. “Clara Barton has an outstanding reputation for genuinely caring about their patients and staff. I am eager to join their team,” she remarked.
The Clinic Administrator at Clara Barton Medical Center, Shayla Cook, emphasized the importance of expanding mental health services. “As we expand our mental health services, our goal is to ensure more patients have access to the support they need, close to home,” Cook noted. “Kimberly’s experience and patient-centered approach will help us continue to make a meaningful impact in the community.”
In her personal life, Beary enjoys spending time outdoors and cherishes moments with family and friends. She encourages her patients to remember the values of compassion and resilience, stating, “Life can be very rewarding but also very challenging. We all need a safe person to sit with in the darkness and celebrate those precious victories.”
