Tiger Woods and his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, reunited at their son Charlie’s high school golf tournament on November 16, 2023. The former couple attended the Florida High School Athletic Association Class 1A state championship tournament held at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, showcasing a united front for their son.

Charlie Woods, a junior at Benjamin School in Palm Beach, played a pivotal role in leading his team to victory, finishing with a five-shot lead over the competition in the two-day tournament. His performance marked an impressive achievement, as Benjamin School also secured the state championship during Charlie’s freshman year. On Saturday, he tied for the day’s best score and ended the tournament tied for fourth overall, further establishing his reputation as a promising young golfer.

While Charlie still has a journey ahead to match his father’s remarkable record of 15 major championships, he currently ranks ninth in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) standings. This ranking reflects a significant leap following his victory at the TaylorMade Invitational on May 28, which was his first AJGA tournament win. As he contemplates his future, Charlie remains the highest-ranked AJGA 2027 recruit yet to make a verbal commitment regarding college.

Woods, who underwent lumbar disk replacement surgery on October 10, appeared to be in good health as he supported Charlie throughout the tournament. The couple’s marriage lasted from 2004 until their divorce in 2010, during which they welcomed two children: Charlie and his older sister, Sam, who is now 17 years old.

Both Woods and Nordegren have navigated their share of personal challenges since their separation. In November 2009, allegations of infidelity came to light, leading to Woods entering a 45-day inpatient treatment program for what he described as a sex addiction. Despite their attempts to reconcile, the couple finalized their divorce in 2010.

In a new chapter of his life, Woods began dating Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., in March 2025. Their relationship is ongoing, but Woods dedicated his weekend to cheering for Charlie at the golf tournament, missing the opportunity to watch Trump’s daughter, Kai, make her LPGA debut at The Annika tournament in Naples, Florida.

Prior to Kai’s tournament, Woods offered her advice, emphasizing the importance of enjoying the experience. Kai, the 18-year-old granddaughter of former President Donald Trump, acknowledged Woods’s influence, stating, “I mean, [Woods] is the best golfer in the entire world. I would say that. And even better person.” Despite her nerves during the tournament, Kai expressed gratitude for the experience, stating, “I did everything I could possibly have done for this tournament.”

Although she finished in last place with a score of +18 over the first two days, Kai reflected positively on her performance, revealing that she felt much calmer during her final round.

As Tiger Woods continues to support his family and navigate his personal life, his presence at the tournament highlights the importance of family bonds and shared experiences in the world of sports.
