The Sierra Theatre Company and Sierra Stages are bringing Noël Coward’s celebrated comedy, Present Laughter, to life at the Nevada Theatre from July 10 to August 2, 2024. This production features the flamboyant character of Garry Essendine, a renowned actor facing the chaos of his personal and professional life as he prepares for an overseas tour.

Garry’s world is a whirlwind of interactions with an eager starlet, a high-strung agent, a witty ex-wife, and a friend’s seductive spouse. The play captures the essence of Coward’s sharp humor while exploring deeper themes of fame, desire, and the challenges of aging. Director Scott Gilbert remarked on the play’s enduring relevance: “It crackles with energy and wit that feels as fresh today as it did when Coward first penned it.”

The cast features Hunter Reed in the lead role of Garry, who expressed his excitement about the production. He stated, “Being a part of this play and this cast has been ridiculously fun… I can’t wait to get this show in front of an audience because the only thing missing is their laughter!”
