Osgood Perkins is gearing up for his next film, The Young People, with a dynamic ensemble cast that includes Brendan Hines, Tatiana Maslany, Johnny Knoxville, Heather Graham, Cush Jumbo, Lexi Minetree, and Lily Collias. These talented actors join previously announced cast members Lola Tung and Nico Parker as production is underway in Vancouver.

Neon, the film’s distributor, will handle the theatrical release in the United States and also represents the international sales rights. The company is co-financing the project alongside Lyrical Media. Perkins not only directs the film but also penned the script himself, marking a significant development in his collaboration with Neon.

Collaboration and Success

This film represents the first project under the first-look deal between Neon, Perkins, and his production company, Phobos. It follows their successful partnership on Longlegs, which became the highest-grossing independent film of the year, amassing $75 million in domestic box office revenue. Their previous collaboration, The Monkey, also achieved notable success, marking Neon’s second-largest opening weekend.

In addition to The Young People, Perkins and Neon are poised to release Keeper on November 14, 2023, further solidifying their ongoing alliance in the film industry.

Talent Representation

The cast is well-represented across various talent agencies. Hines is represented by TalentWorks and Principal Entertainment LA, while Jumbo is represented by Curtis Brown Group and Anonymous Content. Graham’s representation includes Risa Shapiro at RMS Production, Paradigm, and Morris Yorn, Barnes, Levine, Krintzman, Rubenstein, Kohner, Endlich, Goodell & Gellman. Knoxville is with CAA, Minetree with CAA and Framework Entertainment, Collias is represented by Brillstein Entertainment Partners and CAA, while Maslany is represented by UTA.

As anticipation builds for The Young People, the film promises to be another highlight in Perkins’ evolving career, showcasing both his directorial vision and the talents of an impressive cast. The continued partnership between Perkins and Neon is expected to yield exciting cinematic experiences in the near future.
