Olivia Rodrigo Concludes Guts Tour with Intimate NYC Performance
Olivia Rodrigo wrapped up her highly successful Guts World Tour with a surprise performance in New York City on October 23, 2023. The exclusive concert took place at the historic Park Avenue Armory, where a select group of fans, friends, and celebrities gathered for an intimate evening.
The invite-only event, organized by American Express, featured a setlist filled with popular tracks such as “Drivers License,” “Vampire,” and “Deja Vu.” One of the evening’s highlights was Rodrigo’s rare live performance of “Lacy,” a song that gained popularity after being featured in the television series The Summer I Turned Pretty. During the concert, Rodrigo expressed her gratitude to her fans, stating, “Ever since it was in that show, people have been chanting at me at concerts to sing this song if I wasn’t going to sing it. I’m really grateful to that show, and I’m really grateful to you guys for listening to this song and streaming it, because it’s always been one of my favorites.”
Supporting a Cause
In a gesture of generosity, Rodrigo welcomed young fans from the Make-A-Wish Foundation to the event, taking time to meet several attendees before the show. Proceeds from ticket sales were directed to her own initiative, Fund 4 Good, which aims to support education, reproductive rights, and young women’s leadership programs. This philanthropic effort underscores Rodrigo’s commitment to making a positive impact through her music and influence.
The audience included notable figures such as Ashley Park, star of Emily in Paris, Molly Gordon from The Bear, and actress Nina Dobrev. Other attendees included makeup artist Patrick Ta, Good American founder Emma Grede, and designer Jeremiah Brent. The eclectic mix of guests added to the celebratory atmosphere of the evening.
A Historic Venue
Rodrigo performed beneath the impressive arches of the Armory’s Drill Hall, a venue rich in New York’s military history. The site once served as the home for the Seventh Regiment of the National Guard, famously the first volunteer militia to respond to President Abraham Lincoln’s call in 1861.
This concert marked the finale of Rodrigo’s Guts World Tour, which kicked off earlier this year in Palm Springs and included over 75 dates across North America and Europe. Throughout her career, Rodrigo has consistently made waves on music charts, with her debut single “Drivers License” reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for an impressive eight weeks. To date, she has achieved three No. 1 hits on the chart and has garnered attention for her scheduled performance at the 2025 Lollapalooza festival, which will include a set featuring rock band Weezer.
As Olivia Rodrigo closes this chapter of her career, her impact on the music industry and her efforts to uplift young voices continue to resonate with fans around the world.
