MGM+ Unveils Premiere Date and Trailer for ‘Robin Hood’ Series
MGM+ has announced that its reimagined drama series, Robin Hood, will premiere on November 2, 2023. The show, produced by Lionsgate TV and helmed by showrunner John Glenn, promises to offer a fresh perspective on the classic tale. Alongside the premiere date, the streaming platform has released the first trailer for the series.
The ten-episode run will kick off with a special two-episode premiere at 9 PM ET/PT on MGM+ in the United States, with subsequent episodes airing weekly. The season finale is set for December 28, 2023. Viewers in the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, Latin America, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg will also have access to the series through MGM+.
A Modern Take on a Classic Tale

Glenn stated, emphasizing the show’s blend of historical authenticity and psychological depth. The narrative centers around the love story between Rob, portrayed by Jack Patten, the son of a Saxon forester, and Marian, played by Lauren McQueen, the daughter of a Norman lord. Set against the backdrop of the Norman invasion of England, the pair teams up to challenge injustice and fight for freedom.
As Rob emerges as the leader of a band of rebel outlaws, Marian takes on a different role by infiltrating the court’s power structure. Together, they aim to thwart royal corruption and restore peace to their land.
A Strong Supporting Cast
The series features notable performances from Sean Bean as the Sheriff of Nottingham, Lydia Peckham as Priscilla of Nottingham, Steven Waddington as the Earl of Huntingdon, and Connie Nielsen as Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine. The production team includes executive producers Jonathan English and Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures, alongside Glenn.
