Lydia Plath and Zac Wyse Discuss Family Plans Amid Growing Interest

Lydia Plath, a star of the reality series *Welcome to Plathville*, recently opened up about her and husband Zac Wyse’s plans for starting a family. In an exclusive interview with *Us Weekly* on August 25, 2023, the couple expressed their desire to wait at least a year before having children.
Lydia, who comes from a family of nine, married Zac in February 2023 after a quick engagement. Their relationship, which has drawn both interest and scrutiny, remains a topic of conversation within their family. Lydia’s father, Barry Plath, has been particularly vocal about his desire to become a grandfather. “He’s ready to be a grandfather. He’s still waiting today,” Lydia shared, recalling a moment when Barry pointed out a shelf in their home that once held her baby pictures.
Zac supports Lydia’s timeline for parenthood, stating, “We’re definitely waiting, though, because we want to know each other. We also want to prepare for something like that.” He acknowledged that both he and Lydia have “baby fever” but are committed to waiting to ensure they are ready for the responsibilities of parenthood.
Future Family Plans and Aspirations
When the couple does decide to expand their family, Lydia mentioned they are considering having “three to five” children. She believes this size strikes a balance that is “not too small, not too big.”
Their recent experiences with friends who have young children have intensified their desire for kids. Earlier this summer, they spent time with *Counting On* alum Jinger Duggar and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, who welcomed their third child, son Finnegan, in March 2023. “Seeing Zach hold a baby, it was just the worst thing for me right now,” Lydia remarked, laughing about the emotional impact of witnessing Zac with a newborn.
While the couple is content with their decision to delay starting a family, they have also enjoyed the intimacy of their relationship since getting married. Zac confirmed that he feels comfortable with Lydia, despite the couple saving their first kiss for their wedding day. “I think we trusted each other enough that, you know, it wasn’t going to be perfect,” Zac explained. Lydia added, “Whatever it was, was going to be perfect because it was us learning together.”
As they navigate their new life as a married couple, Lydia and Zac are clearly focused on building a strong foundation before taking the next step into parenthood. With their love and commitment evident, fans of *Welcome to Plathville* are eagerly watching their journey unfold.
