Hayley Williams is taking strong measures to protect fans from ticket scalpers ahead of her upcoming solo tour, which kicks off in North America in March 2024. In a recent statement on social media, she addressed the ongoing challenges in the ticketing landscape, describing it as a “broken and convoluted system.” With the high demand for her shows, many fans face the daunting prospect of paying inflated prices on secondary markets to hear hits like “Good Ol’ Days” and “Parachute” live.

To tackle this issue, Williams has collaborated with Openstage to introduce a verified fan presale system. Registration for this presale will open from November 10, 2023, at 10 a.m. ET until November 11, 2023, at 10 a.m. ET. Participants must verify both their email addresses and phone numbers through two-factor authentication to receive a unique code for ticket access. This process aims to ensure that only genuine fans compete for tickets, rather than automated bots or scalpers.

Williams emphasized her commitment to making tickets available at face value. “You shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to buy tickets to see the show,” she stated. “My team and I are doing everything we can, and I am hopeful that the processes we’ve put into place will get as many tickets into the hands of my fans as possible.” While she acknowledged that not every verified fan may secure a ticket, she expressed optimism that this approach would mitigate the impact of scalpers.

If the initial presale sells out, additional opportunities for ticket purchases will be made available. In situations where a ticket holder cannot attend, resale options will be facilitated through a face value ticket exchange. This method prevents tickets from being sold for more than their original cost on platforms like Ticketmaster and AXS. In states such as New York and Illinois, ticket transfers will be disabled to further reduce the chances of scalpers profiting from resales.

Although Williams recognizes that her strategy is not flawless, she hopes it will alleviate some frustrations associated with the ticket-buying experience. “I can’t wait to be back on the road and see all of your faces,” she said, referring to her recent album, Ego Death, released in August. “We’ll dance, scream, and cry together. Love you all. Take care of yourselves.”

The tour, aptly named the Hayley Williams at a Bachelorette Party Tour, will feature performances in several key cities, including:

– March 28 – Atlanta, GA @ Tabernacle
– March 31 – Toronto, ON @ Massey Hall
– April 3 and 4 – Boston, MA @ Citizens House of Blues
– April 9 and 10 – New York, NY @ Hammerstein Ballroom
– April 21 and 22 – Chicago, IL @ Chicago Theater
– April 25 and 27 – Nashville, TN @ Ryman Auditorium

Fans can look forward to this highly anticipated tour, as Williams hopes her proactive approach will foster a more equitable ticketing experience.
