Fifth Woman Files Police Report Against Smokey Robinson for Alleged Sexual Battery
A fifth woman has come forward to accuse singer Smokey Robinson of sexual battery, filing a police report with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on March 15, 2024. This latest allegation adds to a growing list of accusations against the Motown legend, which now totals five women who have formally reported their claims to law enforcement.
The woman reported her allegations during a conversation with a deputy at the Malibu/Lost Hills station of the sheriff’s department. All five accusers have officially filed reports with the department, which initiated a criminal investigation into Robinson’s conduct in May 2023. This investigation is being handled by the department’s Special Victims Bureau, following the initial allegations made by four women.
Robinson’s attorney, Christopher Frost, commented on the situation, suggesting that the recent report is not unexpected. “In the context of very public allegations by the four interconnected Jane Does and their shared attorneys, no matter how untrue, news like this might emerge,” he stated. Frost added that the nature of celebrity often leads to such claims being made, regardless of their validity.
He previously indicated that the police reports were filed after the women initiated a $50 million civil lawsuit against Robinson, implying a strategic motive behind the timing. “Our focus is on exposing the falsity of the Doe lawsuit,” Frost noted. He criticized the anonymous accusers for failing to reveal their identities or submit to depositions where the truth could be established.
The ongoing investigation into Robinson’s conduct continues to draw attention, and inquiries have been made to the attorneys representing the first four accusers, John Harris and Herbert Hayden. As of now, there has been no response from their legal team regarding the latest developments.
