On March 24, 2026, the H2Oklahoma event will take place at Ruby Grant Park in Norman, Oklahoma. This free educational program, designed for fourth graders, will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and aims to teach young participants about the significance of water conservation, history, and the essential role water plays in our lives. The event has been engaging students since 1995, as reported by the City of Norman.

The City of Norman, in collaboration with the Cleveland Conservation District and the Oklahoma Water Resources Board, is hosting this hands-on program. It offers students an opportunity to learn through interactive activities, including educational games and water cycle demonstrations. Parents and educators are encouraged to register by December 1, 2025, to secure participation for their students in this enriching experience.

Engaging Activities for Young Learners

According to Michele Loudenback from the City of Norman, “H2Oklahoma inspires students to see the wonder in the world around them.” The program is tailored for fourth graders, including those who are homeschooled, and features various activities that emphasize the importance of water conservation and related career paths.

Students will have the chance to engage with peers, participate in macroinvertebrate modeling, and gain a deeper understanding of the water cycle. This outdoor event promises to foster a sense of curiosity and responsibility regarding water resources among young attendees.

Through initiatives like H2Oklahoma, the City of Norman continues to invest in educational programs that promote environmental awareness and stewardship. As the event approaches, anticipation builds for another successful year of inspiring the next generation to appreciate and protect their water resources.
