maluma-and-manager-walter-kolm-end-successful-12-year-partnership

Colombian music star Maluma and his longtime manager Walter Kolm have officially ended their professional relationship after more than 12 years of collaboration. The split, confirmed to Billboard and expected to be publicly announced on July 15, 2025, marks the conclusion of one of the most successful artist-manager partnerships in the history of Latin music.

In a heartfelt statement, Maluma, whose real name is Juan Luis Londoño, expressed gratitude for their time together, stating, “I can only be thankful for so many special moments together, both inside and out of the industry.” He reflected on their journey from the beginning, emphasizing that they achieved remarkable milestones together. “Today is the end of a professional cycle, but also the beginning of new opportunities for both of us,” he added, reassuring fans that their personal bond remains strong.

Kolm echoed Maluma’s sentiments, acknowledging the pride he feels in having helped shape the artist’s career. “From that very moment I knew he had something special, and seeing him become who he is today has been one of the proudest moments of my life,” he stated. He emphasized their shared achievements, including breaking records and redefining the Latin music landscape. Kolm described their relationship as one of love and dedication, referring to Maluma as “Juancho” and expressing his ongoing support.

Despite the end of their management partnership, both Maluma and Kolm plan to continue their collaboration on upcoming projects. Notably, Maluma’s tour in Mexico is set to begin in August, featuring three performances at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City. This tour follows a successful 12-city European arena tour that included sold-out shows at Madrid’s Wizink Center.

Looking ahead, Maluma emphasized his desire to explore new creative avenues. He mentioned that he is in the process of assembling a new management team and is focused on making music that resonates with him. A new single titled “Bronceado” is scheduled for release on July 17, 2025, and he will continue to lead his label, Royalty Records, which features emerging talent such as Maisak.

Kolm, recognized as one of the most successful managers in Latin music, has expanded his own roster this year by signing notable artists including Xavi and Morat. His previous accolades include being named Billboard‘s Latin Executive of the Year in 2018. Kolm’s management firm, WK Entertainment, continues to represent a diverse group of stars, underscoring his influence in the industry.

As both Maluma and Kolm embark on new chapters in their careers, their legacy together remains a significant part of Latin music history. The duo’s accomplishments over the years have not only elevated Maluma’s status but have also contributed to the global reach of Latin music, paving the way for future artists.
