The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is hosting a Hunter Education skills course on August 19, 2023, from 17:30 to 20:30 at the Litton Agri-Science Learning Center in Chillicothe, Missouri. This event aims to assist individuals seeking to obtain their hunter education certification.

Participants must register in advance, which can be done through the MDC event page. This course is open to individuals aged 11 and older. While parents are encouraged to accompany their children, their presence is not mandatory during the class.

Course Structure and Requirements

The skills course represents the second half of the hunter education certification process. Before attending, participants must complete the knowledge portion of the certification. This can be done either online for a fee or by answering chapter review questions in the student Hunter Education manual at no cost. The student manuals, as well as access to online courses, are available on the MDC website. Additionally, manuals can be obtained free of charge at any MDC office.

It is essential for participants to bring proof of completion of the knowledge portion to the class. The Litton Agri-Science Learning Center is located at 10780 LIV 235, Chillicothe. Interested individuals can reach out to Brad Addison, a Conservation Educator at MDC, via email at [email protected] for further inquiries.
