Steelers Scout Top Prospects Jordyn Tyson and Sam Leavitt for 2026 Draft

The Pittsburgh Steelers have begun their scouting efforts for the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft, even before the start of the 2025 college football season. On Monday, representatives from ten NFL teams attended a practice at Arizona State University to evaluate two standout prospects: wide receiver Jordyn Tyson and quarterback Sam Leavitt. The Steelers are particularly interested in both players as potential additions to their roster.
Tyson is gaining attention as a top candidate to be the first wide receiver selected in the 2026 draft. His exceptional skills as a route runner and his ability to create separation make him a formidable prospect. Additionally, Tyson has honed his blocking abilities, influenced by former Steeler Hines Ward, who is renowned for his proficiency in this area.
Leavitt, a redshirt sophomore, transferred to Arizona State from Michigan State University following the 2023 season. Last year, he recorded a total of 2,885 yards in passing, achieving an impressive 24 touchdowns against just six interceptions. With a year of experience in the Arizona State system, Leavitt is expected to excel, particularly when throwing to a talent like Tyson.
Another player who may attract the Steelers’ interest is running back Kanye Udoh. A transfer from Army, Udoh has the opportunity to showcase his skills within Arizona State’s running back rotation, further positioning himself as a viable NFL prospect.
The Steelers’ proactive approach to scouting suggests a commitment to building a competitive team for the future. By identifying emerging talent early, they aim to secure key players who can contribute to their success in the coming seasons. As the college football landscape evolves, the Steelers will continue to monitor and assess potential draft choices to enhance their roster.
