Northern Shenandoah Valley NAMI Offers Mental Health Support Groups

The Northern Shenandoah Valley National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) provides essential support group meetings for adults living with mental health conditions and/or addiction, regardless of their diagnosis. These sessions aim to foster a sense of community and understanding among individuals facing similar challenges.
NAMI organizes meetings on a consistent schedule throughout the week, offering various locations and formats to accommodate participants.
Weekly Support Group Meetings
Support groups are held at several venues across the region. On Mondays, meetings take place from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Our Health Campus located in the Shockey Building, 301 N. Cameron St., Winchester. This weekly gathering creates a safe space for attendees to share their experiences and receive support.
On Tuesdays, the group meets from 6:30-8 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Stephens City Mennonite Church, situated at 5540 Valley Pike. This session encourages individuals from the surrounding community to come together and discuss their journeys.
Wednesdays feature meetings from 4-5:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at the Shenandoah County Parks and Recreation office, located on the lower level at 1195 Hisey Ave., Woodstock. This afternoon session is designed to provide participants with supportive resources and peer engagement.
Thursdays are reserved for gatherings at Calvary Episcopal Church from 6:30-8 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays. This church is located at 11 W. 2nd St., Front Royal, and offers a welcoming environment for individuals seeking connection and support.
For those unable to attend in person, a virtual support group takes place on Saturdays from 1-2:30 p.m. Participants can register for this online session via the link: https://tinyurl.com/5aak9py6. This option provides flexibility for those who may have difficulty attending physical meetings.
Finally, on the first Sunday of every month, a meeting occurs from 2:30-4 p.m. at 1444 Welltown Road, Cleark Brook. This monthly gathering is another opportunity for community members to connect and share their experiences.
