A motorcyclist tragically lost her life in a two-vehicle collision on Thursday evening in Aiken, South Carolina. The incident occurred at approximately 18:09 at the intersection of Whiskey Road and Chukker Creek Road. According to Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables, the victim has been identified as 28-year-old Summer Poole from New Ellenton.

Poole was riding a 2003 Honda motorcycle southbound on Whiskey Road when a northbound Honda Civic made a turn into her path. The motorcycle struck the Civic, resulting in a fatal crash. Emergency responders pronounced Poole dead at the scene at 18:53.

An autopsy has been scheduled for next week in Newberry to determine the exact cause of death. The Aiken Department of Public Safety and the Coroner’s Office are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Road safety advocates emphasize the importance of caution at intersections, particularly where visibility may be limited. The loss of a life in such circumstances serves as a somber reminder of the inherent dangers faced by motorcyclists on the road.
