UPDATE: In a shocking turn of events, Aaron Phypers has accused his estranged wife, Denise Richards, of being addicted to Vicodin and engaging in an “ongoing” affair. This revelation comes just days after Richards made serious abuse allegations against him, according to exclusive details obtained by Page Six.
Phypers alleges that Richards requires an “intervention” due to her drug addiction, which he claims has severely impacted their 14-year-old daughter, Eloise. In a letter to friends and family, he states, “For nearly a decade, she has struggled with an addiction to Vicodin… mixed with Adderall and tequila.” He emphasizes the danger of her substance use, stating, “I’ve witnessed her pass out from substances — putting herself and others in danger, including while driving with our daughter.”
In the explosive letter, Phypers also claims he discovered evidence of an affair earlier this year. He describes a troubling conversation where Richards allegedly begged him not to leave, only to later deny the infidelity despite finding explicit messages. “More lies and shocking evidence emerged,” he asserts.
The couple’s conflict escalated on July 4, 2023, the day Phypers filed for divorce. He recounts a disturbing incident where a simple act of ordering food for Eloise led to a physical altercation. Phypers alleges that after his phone went missing during a heated argument, he found it “smashed inside a trash bag, hidden beneath rotting garbage.”
Phypers claims he and his family have faced threats and stalking since initiating the divorce. He reveals, “I’ve experienced stalking (an AirTag placed on my car), been denied access to my personal belongings, and watched my elderly parents become frightened and mistreated.” The letter concludes with a plea for prayers for Richards, framing the situation as “a cry for help.”
Richards, 54, was granted a restraining order against Phypers, 52, last Wednesday. In court documents, she details alleged physical abuse, claiming he repeatedly choked and slapped her, and threatened violence. “Aaron would frequently violently choke me… aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack,” she alleged. Richards also claims Phypers became enraged during their July 4 confrontation, hurling degrading insults.
In response to the allegations, Phypers has categorically denied any abuse, stating, “I have never, ever physically harmed my wife.” He maintains that he has only acted to protect her or others from harm.
The turmoil surrounding their relationship has drawn significant media attention, with insiders suggesting Richards’ alleged alcohol issues may have contributed to her injuries. A source close to Phypers claims a photo of Richards’ bruised face was taken while she was intoxicated, asserting it resulted from a fall at his medical clinic in winter 2022.
As the situation develops, both parties are expected to continue their public and legal battles. Phypers filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences,” and the fallout from these explosive accusations is yet to be fully realized.
