Gifting Forward Foundation Launches Urgent 12 Days of Gifting Campaign
UPDATE: The Gifting Forward Foundation has just launched its second annual 12 Days of Gifting campaign, awarding $1,000 daily to 12 nonprofit organizations across the region. This initiative, which kicked off on December 1, 2023, aims to spread holiday cheer and support vital community services during a time of urgent need.
New this year, the campaign has expanded its reach to include nonprofits serving Atwood and Wichita, reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to the communities where its affiliated firm, Legacy Financial Solutions, operates. With locations in Great Bend, Atwood, and Wichita, the Foundation’s efforts mirror its strong community ties.
As many nonprofits grapple with the ramifications of recent government funding disruptions due to the government shutdown, this year’s campaign arrives with a renewed purpose. Delayed or reduced funding has left many organizations struggling to meet increasing community needs. The Gifting Forward Foundation aims to bolster these essential services during this critical time.
Founded in 2020 amidst the pandemic, the Gifting Forward Foundation has rapidly grown, now boasting over $500,000 in assets and more than $10 million pledged to various causes. The Foundation’s mission to “gift it forward” is exemplified through its unrestricted and impactful giving.
Each business day leading up to Christmas Eve, a new nonprofit recipient will be announced, showcasing the significant yet often behind-the-scenes work accomplished by these organizations. The selected recipients for 2023 include:
– Community Food Bank of Barton County
– Rawlins County Dental Clinic
– Core Communities Great Bend
– Rawlins County Hospital Foundation
– CASA
– Core Communities Atwood
– Family Crisis Center
– First Christian Church Children’s Education
– USD 428 Education Foundation
– Great Bend Economic Development
– Ronald McDonald House Wichita
– ElderCare Barton County Meals on Wheels
“We are thrilled to expand this year’s campaign to include Atwood, allowing us to support nonprofits in every community where we have strong roots,” said Dena Hiss, co-founder of the Gifting Forward Foundation. She emphasized the importance of these organizations that serve on the front lines during a time when resources are critically stretched and community needs are growing.
The diverse array of services provided by the recipients includes food security, healthcare, education, crisis intervention, housing support, and economic development. These are essential components for building strong, resilient communities.
As the Gifting Forward Foundation continues its mission, it remains steadfast in fostering generosity, trust, and community-driven philanthropy. The 12 Days of Gifting campaign is a testament to this commitment, celebrating local nonprofits and the lasting impact they create within their communities.
