Greenville High School Principal Danelle Nauta to Retire in December
Greenville High School Principal Danelle Nauta has announced her retirement, effective December 31, 2024. Nauta, 47, shared this news in an email to students and families on Monday, marking the end of her tenure after just over a year and a half in the role.
Nauta, a graduate of Greenville High School in 1996, was appointed principal in the spring of 2024 following the retirement of former principal Michelle Blaszczynski. Prior to her role at Greenville, Nauta served as an assistant principal at Caledonia High School. In her email, she expressed gratitude for her time in the role and for the support she received from the community.
“I am writing to share some personal news. I will be retiring as an educator from the state of Michigan, including my role as principal at Greenville High School, effective December 31st,” Nauta stated. “Although my time at Greenville Public Schools has been brief, it has truly been a privilege to serve this remarkable community. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such dedicated staff, to learn from and support our incredible students, and to experience the warmth and partnership of our families and community members. This is a special place, and I will always carry that with me.”
Nauta reassured the school community that she will remain available via email during the upcoming winter break for any questions or needs that may arise. She also mentioned that the district will communicate plans regarding her successor in the near future, emphasizing her confidence in a smooth transition.
“Thank you for your support, your kindness, and your commitment to our students. I wish each of you a joyful and restful holiday season,” she concluded.
As the school prepares for this transition, Nauta’s departure signifies a notable change for Greenville High School, which will soon seek a new leader to continue its mission in education.
