URGENT UPDATE: The PCM Mustangs girls basketball team has just achieved a stunning 61-13 victory over the Saydel Eagles, marking their 19th consecutive win in the series. The Mustangs dominated the game, holding Saydel to single-digit scores in every quarter, a performance not seen in over a decade.

This commanding win took place during Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play on Friday, with the Mustangs leading by a staggering 48 points—the largest margin since their 53-point victory on December 2, 2016. Fans in attendance witnessed PCM pull ahead quickly, leading 17-2 after the first quarter and extending their advantage with a remarkable 20-4 second quarter.

Tori Lindsay emerged as the standout player, scoring 13 points, including 10 points in the first half, while also contributing five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Her dynamic performance set the tone for the Mustangs, who now boast a record of 3-1 and 2-0 in the HOIAC.

Libby Winters added another strong contribution with 7 points in the first half, complemented by five rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Kyra Naeve also played a crucial role, netting 10 points, with eight coming in the first half. Supporting players like Lila Milani and Jorja Teeter rounded out the scoring, showcasing the Mustangs’ depth.

The bench made a significant impact as well, contributing 21 points total. Notably, Lillian Knapp recorded a career-high of 7 points, while Lexi Fagg scored the first five points of her varsity career. The Mustangs shot an impressive 44.4 percent from the field, including 8-of-22 from beyond the arc.

On the other side, the Saydel Eagles struggled offensively, with Luella Weispfenning leading the team with only 5 points and nine rebounds. Saydel’s performance was hampered by a staggering 33 turnovers and a shooting percentage of just 18 percent from the floor, failing to score from three-point range.

This victory not only highlights the Mustangs’ strong start to the season but also raises anticipation for their upcoming games. With their sights set on maintaining momentum, the Mustangs will look to continue their dominance in the league. Fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see how PCM builds on this impressive performance.

As the Mustangs celebrate their latest triumph, the question remains: can they maintain this level of excellence as the season progresses? Stay tuned for further updates as the PCM girls basketball team continues their pursuit of victory.
