Little Light of Mine Lights Up Early Ahead of Official Opening
URGENT UPDATE: The beloved Little Light of Mine holiday display is set to illuminate the community earlier than anticipated, with lights being switched on for a test run on November 27, 2023, just before the official opening this Friday. Committee member Dixie Zeien confirmed that the dazzling display will also shine on Thanksgiving evening, making this year’s season even more special.
“This is really exciting,” Zeien stated. “Wednesday is our test day, and Thursday we’ll troubleshoot anything we need to fix. So, while the official start is Friday, the lights will definitely be shining before then.” The display features contributions from numerous individuals, families, businesses, and organizations, promising a spectacular showcase for the 2025 season.
The launch of the lights isn’t the only highlight. Little Light of Mine is hosting several special events, starting with the “Holiday Train Mini-Photo Session” on Sunday, December 1, 2023, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Families can enjoy the festive atmosphere and capture heartwarming memories.
Mark your calendars for the highly anticipated visit from Santa at Mikkelson Park on December 6, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m.. This magical evening will culminate in a spectacular fireworks show at 7 p.m., adding to the excitement of the holiday season.
In another festive treat, the committee will offer complimentary hot chocolate and cookies on December 21, 2023, starting at 6:30 p.m. Zeien expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “We can’t wait because we think it just gets better and better every year. It’s heartwarming to see families enjoy the lights.”
