BREAKING: An 8-year-old girl in Oakleaf, Florida, is being hailed as a hero after she bravely intervened to protect her mother from an uninvited attack by her estranged grandmother. The shocking incident unfolded on October 10, 2023, when Serpil Adams, 62, burst into her daughter’s home armed with a serrated utility knife.

Authorities report that the attack occurred while the victim was at home with her two young children. Adams entered through an unlocked door, launching a violent confrontation with her daughter. In a split-second decision, the young girl grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her grandmother in the arm, successfully stopping the attack.

After being injured, Adams fled the scene, driving to Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office swiftly located her at a friend’s house, where she was arrested without incident. She now faces serious charges of attempted second-degree murder and is being held on a staggering bond of $500,003.

Fortunately, both the victim and her children emerged from the ordeal unharmed. This incident highlights the extreme lengths to which children will go to protect their families.

Officials stress the importance of securing homes to prevent similar incidents and urge families to keep doors locked, especially when estranged relatives are involved. As the investigation continues, community members are rallying around the family, offering support and expressing their relief that the children were not harmed.

The legal proceedings against Adams are set to begin shortly, and many are closely watching how this case unfolds. With the emotional trauma still fresh, the family is now facing the aftermath of this harrowing experience.
