Michael Bublé’s Christmas Album Reclaims Top Spot on Billboard Chart
Michael Bublé’s beloved Christmas album has returned to the top of Billboard’s Top Holiday Albums chart, as of November 22, 2023. The album, released in 2011, has now spent a remarkable total of 61 weeks at No. 1. This enduring popularity underscores the album’s status as a seasonal favorite among listeners.
New Entries from Prominent Artists
The latest chart also features new entries from notable artists such as Brad Paisley, Trisha Yearwood, and Herb Alpert, all of whom have debuted on the list. The Top Holiday Albums chart ranks the 50 most popular seasonal albums in the United States, based on multi-metric consumption. This includes album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit is calculated as either one album sale, ten individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand streams generated by songs from an album.
The chart will continue to be published weekly until early January 2026, when it will pause until the next holiday season, typically returning every October.
Highlights from New Releases
Brad Paisley’s new album, titled Snow Globe Town, has debuted at No. 15 on the Top Holiday Albums chart. This marks his second entry on the tally, following the success of his 2006 release, Brad Paisley Christmas, which peaked at No. 2 in January 2007. Snow Globe Town features eight newly-penned songs alongside classic holiday favorites such as “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)” and “Jingle Bell Rock.” Additionally, it enters the charts at No. 15 on Top Album Sales, No. 14 on Top Current Album Sales, and No. 49 on Top Country Albums.
Trisha Yearwood also made an appearance with her new album, Christmastime, which debuted at No. 36 on the Top Holiday Albums chart. This album includes fresh renditions of beloved classics such as “My Favorite Things,” “Pure Imagination,” and “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.” Notably, it features an original track titled “Merry Christmas, Valentine,” co-written and performed by Yearwood alongside Garth Brooks. Christmastime also starts at No. 50 on the Top Current Albums chart.
Completing the list of new entries, Herb Alpert’s Christmas Time Is Here has entered the chart at No. 44. This project is Alpert’s third holiday album and also appears at No. 4 on the Contemporary Jazz Albums chart and No. 18 on the overall Jazz Albums chart. Christmas Time Is Here includes Alpert’s interpretations of popular songs like “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” “Santa Baby,” and “Winter Wonderland.” His first holiday album, released in 1968, reached No. 1 on Billboard’s then-titled Christmas LPs chart, while his second, The Christmas Wish, peaked at No. 5 on the Top Holiday Albums chart in 2017.
The enduring appeal of these artists and their new releases highlights the significant role that holiday music plays in the annual celebration of the season. As listeners turn to familiar favorites and fresh takes, the charts reflect the dynamic landscape of holiday music.
