FilmLight Colour Awards Celebrate Excellence in Cinematic Grading
The FilmLight Colour Awards recognized outstanding achievements in cinematic grading at a ceremony held during the EnergaCamerimage festival in Poland. The event, which took place on November 12, 2025, featured notable figures, including jury president Bradford Young, who opened the proceedings, while acclaimed director Park Chan-wook contributed remarks via video.
In the category of theatrical features, Máté Ternyik took home the top prize for his exceptional work on The Brutalist. This year’s competition included impressive entries from Damien Vandercruyssen for Mickey 17, Adam Glasman for Nosferatu, Kostas Theodosiou for Sinners, and Gareth Spensley for The Phoenician Scheme.
In the episodic category, Peter Doyle was awarded for his grading on Disclaimer, the AppleTV thriller from acclaimed director Alfonso Cuaron. Other contenders in this section included Jean-Clement Soret for Andor, Tom Poole for Severance, and Damien Vandercruyssen for The Studio.
The awards also recognized excellence in music videos, with Dante Pasquinelli winning for his work on Bad Bunny’s hit “NUEVAYoL.” He stood out among shortlisted entries from Valerio Liberatore, Jake White, and Sam Howells.
In the commercial category, Franziska Heinemann received accolades for Bluff Bounce, titled “Prologue.” Other notable entries included campaigns for Gucci, KFC, and Office Magazine.
Emerging talent was also celebrated, with Marina Starke winning for her work on Converse x Daily Paper’s “Homecoming.” This category showcased innovative projects from various new creators, including Starke’s award-winning entry.
