UPDATE: The Los Angeles County Superior Courts in downtown Los Angeles will be closed on Monday, September 25, 2023, due to the massive crowds expected for the Dodgers’ victory parade. This closure impacts several key courthouses, including the Stanley Mosk Courthouse, Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center, and the Spring Street Courthouse.

As fans flood the streets to celebrate the Dodgers’ championship win, all court matters scheduled for this date will be either continued or rescheduled. People needing restraining orders are advised to visit any courthouse that handles family law matters, as those services will still be available.

Jurors who were set to serve on Monday do not need to report for instructions on Sunday night but must resume their calls on Monday for updates regarding Tuesday’s schedule. Jurors currently involved in trials at the affected courthouses are also not required to report on Monday.

While downtown operations will be halted, the majority of Los Angeles County courthouses outside the Civic Center will remain open and operate as usual. Regular courthouse activities in the Civic Center are expected to resume on Tuesday.

Additionally, the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, which houses several county offices including the Assessor’s Office and Board of Supervisors, will also be closed on Monday. Public assistance seekers from the Assessor’s Office can still access help at district offices or through online services at assessor.lacounty.gov.

This significant event is not only a celebration for Dodgers fans but also a disruption for those seeking legal resolutions, highlighting the impact of major public events on day-to-day operations in the city. Residents and visitors should plan accordingly and expect heavy traffic and street closures throughout the downtown area.

With the excitement of the Dodgers’ victory, Monday promises to be a day filled with celebrations and challenges alike. Stay tuned for updates as the day unfolds.
