UPDATE: President Donald Trump has just revealed a lavish renovation of the Lincoln Bathroom in the White House, showcasing a striking transformation to polished Statuary marble. This announcement came on Friday via his social media platform, Truth Social, where he shared before-and-after photos of the historic space.

“I renovated the Lincoln Bathroom in the White House,” Trump stated, highlighting that the original decor from the 1940s featured an “art deco green tile style,” which he deemed “totally inappropriate for the Lincoln Era.” He emphasized the new design, stating, “I did it in black and white polished Statuary marble. This was very appropriate for the time of Abraham Lincoln and, in fact, could be the marble that was originally there!”

This renovation is part of a larger and controversial project, as Trump is currently demolishing the White House’s East Wing to make way for a new 90,000-square-foot, $300 million ballroom funded by private donors. The decision has ignited backlash, with a recent ABC News/Ipsos poll indicating that a significant majority of Americans—56%—oppose the demolition. Among those, 45% strongly disapprove, while only 28% support the project.

As this story develops, the public’s reaction continues to unfold, with many expressing concern over the preservation of White House history versus the pursuit of luxury projects.

Stay tuned for further updates as this situation evolves.
