Daniels Returns to Lead Commanders Against Seahawks on Sunday
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is set to return to the field this Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks after missing one game due to a hamstring injury. Coach Dan Quinn confirmed the news, which comes as the Commanders look to end a three-game losing streak and improve on their current record of 3-5.
The Commanders have faced significant challenges this season, particularly with injuries impacting their roster. Notably, they will be without star receiver Terry McLaurin, who is sidelined for his fifth consecutive game due to a quad injury. As the team prepares for the matchup against the Seahawks, who hold a record of 5-2, the return of Daniels is viewed as a critical boost.
Quinn expressed enthusiasm about Daniels’ return, stating, “We’re all pumped for that. He just has a unique way about him; he elevates others. He’s hard to defend.” After being ruled out early in the week following the injury sustained during Week 7 against Dallas, Daniels has shown resilience. He participated fully in practice for three consecutive days leading up to the game, indicating he is ready to play.
Daniels did not take the field in Monday’s 28-7 loss to Kansas City, but he reported feeling better by the end of the week. Earlier in the season, he had also missed two games due to a sprained left knee. Regarding his recovery, Daniels noted, “I’m good. If I’m out there, I’m not even thinking about it. If I was worried about something, then I wouldn’t be playing. If I’m out there on the field, I’m going to be confident in myself and my abilities to go out there and execute and play football.”
In his five appearances this season, Daniels has thrown for 1,031 yards, achieving eight touchdowns against one interception. He has also contributed with his legs, rushing for 211 yards and adding one touchdown. His ability to perform under pressure will be crucial as the Commanders aim to regain momentum against a strong Seahawks team this Sunday.
