URGENT UPDATE: Young Eagle Day is set to take flight this Saturday, November 1, 2023, at the Ellsworth Airport. The Smoky Hill EAA Chapter #1127 invites youth aged 8 to 17 to participate in a unique opportunity to experience free demonstration flights in airplanes, providing an exhilarating introduction to aviation.

Registration kicks off promptly at 9 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m. at the Airport Hangar. Each flight will be conducted by a licensed and seasoned volunteer pilot from the Smoky Hill EAA Chapter, ensuring a safe and engaging experience for every participant.

To join in on this thrilling day, each young participant must have a signed permission form from their parent or guardian. These forms are readily available through chapter members or can be completed on-site Saturday morning.

Should inclement weather occur, the event is rescheduled to November 8.

This initiative not only sparks interest in aviation among youth but also connects them with experienced pilots, creating memorable experiences that could inspire future careers in the field. For more information, interested families can reach out to local members Patti Kubick at 785-531-1349 or Dale Weinhold at 785-472-4309.
