Charlie Cox Denies Rumors of Daredevil Cameo in Spider-Man Film
Marvel fans have been buzzing with speculation about a possible cameo of Daredevil in the upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day. In a recent interview on the Phase Hero podcast, Cox clarified the situation, stating, “I’m not in Spider-Man…I’m just concentrating on DD right now.” This announcement comes as a disappointment to fans hoping for a crossover between the two superhero franchises.
Cox explained that while he is aware of the rumors, he does not follow social media and therefore does not engage with fan theories. His current focus remains on his role as Daredevil, dismissing any speculation linking him to the Tom Holland film. Despite his comments, it is not uncommon for Marvel actors to downplay their involvement due to confidentiality agreements, which often keep fans guessing until the film’s release.

Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day began in Scotland in August 2023. Holland expressed enthusiasm about being on set for the fourth installment of his Spider-Man series, stating, “I feel good, man. It’s day one… It’s also the first time we’ve ever had fans on set for day one, so it’s really exciting to share this with them.” The addition of fans during filming marks a unique experience, fostering a connection between the cast and their audience.
Unfortunately, filming was temporarily halted for a week in September after Holland suffered a concussion on set. His recovery was prioritized to ensure a safe return to filming.
The film is slated for release on July 31, 2026, with Destin Daniel Cretton directing. Cretton previously gained recognition for his work on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, raising expectations for the upcoming Spider-Man film.
