Erin Campaneris, the mother of Mark Sanchez‘s eight-year-old son, has publicly addressed her ex-boyfriend’s recent arrest, which has garnered significant media attention. In a statement shared on Instagram on October 12, 2023, Campaneris expressed her awareness of the serious charges Sanchez is facing and emphasized her priority as a mother.

“My foremost priority has always been, and remains, our eight-year-old son, Daniel,” Campaneris, who is known as Bobby T in the modeling industry, stated. She revealed that she chose to maintain silence in the public eye to protect her son from the ongoing situation. Campaneris continued, “Now that everything is out in the open, my focus hasn’t changed. I have always been concerned for his safety and for what he is exposed to. Sadly, none of this is surprising to me.”

The statement follows Sanchez’s release from the hospital, where he was treated after being stabbed on October 4. He was subsequently arrested by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police while recovering. On October 5, Sanchez was charged with three misdemeanors: battery resulting in injury, public intoxication, and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle. On October 6, Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears announced an additional level 5 felony charge against Sanchez, which carries a potential prison sentence of one to five years.

In her remarks, Campaneris noted that she learned about the incident through news alerts and stated that her knowledge regarding Sanchez’s case is limited to publicly available information. She extended her “thoughts and empathy” to the alleged victim, Perry Tole, and others involved in the matter.

Tole has filed a lawsuit against Sanchez and the Fox Corporation, claiming he suffered “serious bodily injury” due to Sanchez’s alleged “malicious, willful, wanton or grossly negligent conduct.” The lawsuit asserts that Tole has experienced severe “permanent disfigurement, loss of function, other physical injuries, emotional distress and other damages.” Tole also contends that Fox has a responsibility to ensure that its employees act in a reasonable manner and should have been aware of Sanchez’s alleged “unfitness” and his “propensity for drinking and/or harmful conduct.”

As of now, Tole has been released from Indianapolis’ Methodist Hospital and is recovering at home.

Sanchez, who played in the NFL for eight seasons and notably led the New York Jets to back-to-back AFC Championship Games after being drafted fifth overall in 2009, was slated to provide commentary for the upcoming game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Las Vegas Raiders on FOX Sports. Following his hospitalization and arrest, he has been replaced by analyst Brady Quinn.

Campaneris concluded her statement by expressing gratitude to those who have shown compassion toward her and her son during this challenging time. Sanchez’s current wife, actress Perry Mattfeld, who is the mother of their twin newborn daughters, has yet to publicly comment on the situation.
