BREAKING NEWS: Conference Carolinas and the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) have just announced a groundbreaking partnership that will bring exciting football matchups to fans starting in the 2025 season. This unique collaboration is set to redefine the competition landscape for college football and is effective immediately.

In a historic move, teams from both conferences will face off during Week 11 of the football season, with the first matchups scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2025. Two institutions from Conference Carolinas that do not qualify for the conference championship will travel to two SIAC institutions in the same situation. This arrangement will continue into 2026, with games slated for November 14, 2026.

The decision to partner comes as Conference Carolinas celebrates its first football season in over 50 years. Commissioner Chris Colvin expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “As we have our first football season in 51 years, we wanted to give our football playing members a great season finale. Working with the SIAC to make this happen is a good partnership for everyone.”

Commissioner Anthony Holloman, Ed.D. of the SIAC echoed this sentiment, emphasizing their commitment to providing student-athletes with premier competitive opportunities while fostering a spirit of excellence and sportsmanship.

With 13 institutions participating in SIAC football, including well-known schools like Albany State University and Clark Atlanta University, the collaboration promises to enrich the competition for both sides. The SIAC is renowned for its storied history as the second oldest Historically Black College and University (HBCU) athletic conference in the nation.

Match participants will be finalized the Saturday preceding the scheduled games, with institutions holding a .500 record or better against NCAA Division II teams prioritized for selection. Institutions with postseason obligations or other commitments will not be eligible.

As this partnership unfolds, it not only marks a significant chapter in collegiate athletics but also enhances the competitive landscape for student-athletes across both conferences. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates as the teams gear up for this exciting collaboration.

This partnership is more than just a series of games; it symbolizes a commitment to excellence in college sports that resonates with athletes and fans alike. With the kickoff less than two years away, anticipation is already building.
