Urgent Call for Volunteers to Support Seniors in Schuylkill County

URGENT UPDATE: Schuylkill County is calling for volunteers to bolster support for seniors as the demand for long-term care services escalates. With the population aging rapidly and many seniors requiring assistance with daily activities, the need for safe and comfortable housing is more critical than ever.
Authorities report that most individuals will need some form of long-term care in their lives, including options like in-home assistance and nursing homes. To enhance the well-being of seniors, the PA Department of Aging has initiated the Ombudsman Program, which aims to advocate for residents in long-term care facilities. Volunteers are urgently needed to visit these facilities, familiarize themselves with the residents, and ensure that their rights are upheld.
