Ras Al Khaimah Unveils Wynn Boulevard to Boost Casino Access

BREAKING NEWS: Ras Al Khaimah has just announced the construction of the Wynn Boulevard, a critical new road designed to connect the upcoming Wynn Al Marjan Island resort with major areas across the UAE. This strategic infrastructure initiative was revealed today during the launch of the Marjan Beach residential project, set to significantly enhance access to this luxurious destination.
Officials have earmarked over AED 1 billion (approximately $272 million) for the boulevard, which will directly link to the E311 and E611 highways. The development is expected to ease travel to Dubai and other emirates, with construction already underway. According to Graham Hallett, development head at Marjan, contracts have been signed, and work is progressing rapidly.
The ambitious Marjan Beach project spans an impressive 85 million square feet, featuring plans for 22,000 homes and 12,000 hotel rooms. Once completed, it is anticipated to accommodate more than 70,000 residents. The new road is scheduled to be completed before the Wynn resort opens in early 2027, ensuring seamless access for tourists and residents alike.
Wynn Resorts is playing a pivotal role in this infrastructure project, with its in-house design team collaborating on the boulevard’s architecture. The project is spearheaded by Island 3 Infra Enterprises, a partnership between Marjan, Wynn, and RAK Hospitality Holding. Notably, Wynn holds a 40% stake in this joint venture.
As the $5 billion Wynn resort rises on Al Marjan Island, the developers report that 61 out of 70 floors are nearing completion, keeping the project on track for its 2027 opening. The luxury facility will feature 1,500 rooms, a marina, high-end dining options, and the region’s first legal casino, spanning 21,000 square meters with advanced amenities including smart tables and potential cryptocurrency payment systems.
This project is more than just a resort; it is a catalyst for economic transformation in Ras Al Khaimah. Officials are optimistic that the development will attract 3.5 million annual visitors by 2030, with Wynn estimating that the UAE gaming industry could generate between $3 billion and $5 billion annually, with some experts projecting earnings could exceed $8 billion.
While discussions of a Las Vegas-style entertainment strip have emerged, Marjan leaders emphasize that Wynn Boulevard represents a practical investment in regional infrastructure rather than solely an entertainment venture. However, Wynn has secured trademarks like “Marjan Strip” and “Arabian Strip” in the UAE, hinting at possible future expansion plans.
Additionally, Wynn has reserved land for a second integrated resort on Al Marjan Island, though final decisions are pending. The company has suggested it may consider going public with its UAE operations once the flagship resort opens its doors.
As this story develops, the impact of Wynn Boulevard on both tourism and local infrastructure will be closely monitored, promising to reshape the economic landscape of Ras Al Khaimah. Stay tuned for updates on this unfolding story.
