UPDATE: The Greenville Eastern North Carolina (ENC) Alliance has just announced the promotion of David Horn to vice president of operations and strategic partnerships, a pivotal move that could reshape the organization’s future. This change comes as the alliance gears up for its ambitious fiscal year 2024-2029 capital campaign.

Horn, who joined the ENC Alliance in August 2020, previously held the role of director of strategic partnerships. In his new position, he will oversee essential operations, including administrative support for the board of directors and management of the municipal grants program. Josh Lewis, president and CEO of the alliance, praised Horn’s commitment, stating, “Over the last five years, David has exemplified the passion and adaptability needed for our success.”

This promotion is significant, especially as the ENC Alliance prepares to enhance economic development activities in Greenville-Pitt County. Under Horn’s leadership, the alliance has attracted a record 111 private sector investors, pledging over $4,800,000 in support. This funding is crucial for driving local economic initiatives, particularly as the region faces evolving challenges and opportunities.

Horn expressed his gratitude for the promotion, highlighting the importance of teamwork in achieving these milestones. “It’s rewarding to see our investor roster more than double. As we look ahead, I’m committed to supporting our operational effectiveness and the growth of our strategic partnerships,” he stated.

In addition to his new responsibilities, Horn has played a vital role in the award-winning career fair, Better Skills, Better Jobs, in collaboration with Pitt Community College. This event, now in its fifth year, connects over 1,500 job seekers with more than 130 employers and educational resource vendors annually, significantly impacting the local community.

Horn’s commitment extends beyond the ENC Alliance. He co-chairs the Grow Local initiative and is involved with multiple boards, including the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau of Eastern Carolinas. His extensive network and community involvement position him as a key player in driving growth and innovation in the region.

As the Greenville ENC Alliance enters this new chapter under Horn’s leadership, stakeholders and community members alike are eager to see how his vision will further enhance economic development.

In related news, the Winterville Chamber of Commerce has announced new members joining its Board of Directors, reflecting ongoing community engagement and leadership growth in the area.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Greenville ENC Alliance and the impact of these leadership changes on the region’s economic landscape.
