BREAKING: The Bethel High girls tennis team powered through scorching temperatures to secure an impressive 6-1 victory against St. Mary’s on Tuesday. This decisive win showcased the Jaguars’ resilience and determination on the court.

The match saw standout performances from No. 2 singles player Shiloh Bradley, who overcame a first-set loss to clinch victory with scores of 2-6, 6-2, 10-7. No. 3 singles player Rovily Zablero also made a remarkable comeback, winning 3-6, 6-2, 10-8. Adding to the team’s triumph was No. 4 singles player Vy Phan, who secured a win by forfeit.

In doubles action, the pair of Betzayda Gonzalez and Jamie Conception dominated their match, winning with a commanding score of 6-1, 6-0. The Jaguars’ success continued with additional wins from doubles teams Alexis Le and Jezelle Israel, along with Riley Regadio and A’Nya Britt.

Bethel’s next match is scheduled for Thursday at home against Pinole Valley, and they are looking to continue their momentum.

In volleyball news, the American Canyon girls team achieved a clean sweep over Napa, winning 3-0 with set scores of 25-14, 25-12, 25-13. This victory improved their league record to 3-3 and overall record to 10-5. Standout players included Joelle Denina, who contributed four aces, and Keilanai Demas, who delivered three aces and 18 assists.

Meanwhile, the Benicia High girls volleyball team fought hard to claim a thrilling 3-2 victory over Berean Christian, winning in five sets with scores of 25-17, 25-14, 25-27, 23-25, 15-12. The team was led by Gabby Muller and Halo Phelps, who each recorded 14 kills. Muller also added eight aces and 18 digs, while Phelps contributed 12 digs. Benicia will face College Park on Thursday in their next match.

In college soccer, the Solano College women’s team faced a tough defeat against Modesto, suffering a staggering 7-0 loss. The Falcons fell behind 5-0 by halftime, and could not recover. Modesto’s Shaylan Roy-Williams stood out with a hat trick in the match. Solano’s next challenge comes on Friday against Foothill, followed by a home game on Tuesday against Contra Costa.
