Washington Wizards Unveil Exciting New City Edition Uniforms
BREAKING: The Washington Wizards have just unveiled their highly anticipated City Edition uniforms, set to debut on November 16, 2025, against the Brooklyn Nets. This fresh design pays homage to the franchise’s iconic gold alternate look from 2006 to 2009, incorporating fan-favorite elements that promise to make a bold statement on the court.
The new uniforms feature a striking black stripe at the center, complemented by a white stripe above the word “Washington” emblazoned across the chest. These elements draw inspiration from the Wizards’ 2021 “mixtape” City Edition look, showcasing the franchise’s commitment to blending history with contemporary style.
Fans and players alike have long requested a black-and-gold uniform since the City Edition series began in 2017. According to Wizards Senior Vice President of Marketing, Rebecca Winn, the team was eager to “remix” a classic. “When Nike directed us to ‘remix’ a former City Edition, we immediately thought of the classic Wizards uniform first worn in 2006,” Winn stated in a news release.
Inside the “Washington” across the chest, a silhouette of the Washington Monument adds a unique touch, while a revamped Wizards logo is showcased on the belt buckle. Additional design features include a white D.C. hand logo outlined in gold on the right side of the shorts, and a “DMV” insignia referencing the D.C., Maryland, Virginia area on the left side, marking a continuation of the 2021 design.
The Wizards plan to wear this uniform an impressive 29 times during the upcoming 2025-26 season. Fans can also expect a matching City Edition court to be revealed later, amplifying the excitement surrounding this new release.
