Police Arrest Three After Shooting Incident at Birmingham Nightclub
Four individuals were shot early on September 20, 2023, at the Mango nightclub located on Bristol Street in Birmingham. The incident occurred around 03:00 local time, resulting in one person being hospitalized in critical condition. The other three victims, comprising two men and a woman, are receiving treatment for less serious injuries.
West Midlands Police responded swiftly, making three arrests shortly after the shooting. Officers apprehended the suspects from a vehicle on the M6 motorway in Warwickshire. These individuals, aged in their 20s and 30s, are currently in custody on suspicion of violent disorder.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Acting Chief Inspector Michael Clarke emphasized the urgency of the situation, describing the nightclub as a busy venue situated on a major thoroughfare out of Birmingham city centre. “It’s vital that we hear from anybody who saw what happened or who may have captured it on dashcam as they went past,” he stated.
The police have launched a rapid investigation and have urged anyone who was present in the nightclub during the incident to come forward. They particularly seek any footage recorded inside the venue that could assist in their inquiries.
In a public appeal for information, the police have encouraged witnesses to contact them by calling 101 and quoting log number 561 of September 20, or to reach out to Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111.
