Jamaican artist Lila Iké has officially released her debut studio album, Treasure Self Love, on August 22, 2023. The album, launched through her own Wurl Ike Records in collaboration with Protoje’s In.Digg.Nation Collective and Ineffable Records, marks a significant evolution in her musical journey. With this release, Iké shifts focus from the sociopolitical themes of her earlier work, opting instead for deeply personal reflections on mental health and self-acceptance.
In the weeks following the album’s release, Iké achieved notable recognition, winning her third consecutive Caribbean Music Award for female reggae artist of the year. In discussing her departure from RCA Records, Iké noted, “It was time to start a new chapter.” She began working with Ineffable immediately after leaving RCA in late 2022, which allowed her greater creative freedom. This newfound autonomy facilitated her exploration of various genres, from dancehall to country, resulting in a rich tapestry of sound that resonates with a wide audience.

Iké is set to perform at Coney Island on September 27, 2023, alongside fellow artist Kabaka Pyramid, as part of her North American tour.
