Jam Hsiao, a prominent figure in the Mandopop music scene, has signed a significant partnership with Sony Music Entertainment. This collaboration marks a groundbreaking initiative for Sony, as it unites its operations across Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan into a coordinated strategy to promote a single artist. The goal is to enhance Hsiao’s global presence through the resources of Sony’s Greater China and Mandarin Region division.

Hsiao, who made his debut in 2007, has become known as the “King of Mandopop.” His powerful vocals span various genres, including rock, ballads, and jazz. With hits like “A Love Song For You” and “Princess,” he has established himself as a major attraction, drawing sell-out crowds across Asia and beyond. The new agreement will see Hsiao begin work on a new album immediately, alongside planning an extensive concert tour that will cover Asia and possibly other international markets.

Strategic Collaboration for Global Reach

Under this partnership, Sony Music will utilize its extensive global network to pursue cross-industry collaborations, aiming to extend Hsiao’s reach into new territories. “This isn’t just a new chapter; it’s a new beginning,” Hsiao remarked. “Partnering with Sony Music is a chance to push my sound further and share the power of Mandopop with the world. I’m ready to create music that hits hard and connects with everyone.”

Andrew Chan, CEO of Sony Music Entertainment Greater China and the Mandarin region, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. “Jam is a global force in Mandopop. His incredible energy and influence break through borders, and we are thrilled to welcome him to Sony Music,” Chan stated. He emphasized that the company would provide comprehensive support, from production to global promotion, to ensure the success of Hsiao’s projects.

This partnership not only represents a significant milestone for Hsiao but also highlights the expanding influence of Mandopop on the international stage. With the backing of Sony Music, Hsiao is poised to reach a broader audience and further solidify his status within the global music industry.
