UPDATE: MAGA supporters are now blaming the animated series South Park for the shocking shooting death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The incident, which occurred on August 6, 2025, during a college event in Utah, has ignited a firestorm of outrage and conspiracy theories across social media.

The shooting death of Kirk has sent shockwaves through the conservative community, with many of his supporters expressing fury over the circumstances surrounding his death. A recent episode of South Park, titled “Got a Nut,” parodied Kirk through the character Eric Cartman, who mimicked Kirk’s hairstyle and mannerisms while visiting college campuses for “debates.” Some fans of Kirk now claim that this episode may have incited violence against him.

In the episode, which aired just days before Kirk’s tragic death, Cartman is seen receiving the ‘Charlie Kirk Award for Young Masterdebaters.’ Kirk himself called the episode “hilarious” in a TikTok posted on August 7. However, this has not stopped a wave of accusations directed at Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park.

“You know what, f— it. Let’s blame South Park,” one user wrote on X, voicing a sentiment shared by many. Another account with nearly 250,000 followers, known as Johnny MAGA, claimed the show “attacked Charlie Kirk’s college campus events and mocked his Christian faith,” sharing clips with the caption “Monsters.”

The Independent has reached out to Comedy Central for comment on these allegations but has yet to receive a response.

Adding to the outrage, former President Donald Trump has publicly condemned what he describes as the “radical left’s” role in inciting violence against figures like Kirk. In an address late Wednesday, Trump stated, “For years, those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis and the world’s worst mass murderers. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism that we’re seeing in our country today and it must stop right now.”

Trump emphasized that his administration would seek to hold accountable all individuals and organizations that contribute to such “atrocities.”

The identity of the shooter remains unknown, but authorities have confirmed that investigations into the incident are ongoing. The emotional impact of Kirk’s death reverberates throughout his community, raising alarms about safety concerns for conservative activists nationwide.

As this story develops, all eyes will be on the investigation and the ongoing reactions from both supporters and critics of Kirk. Stay tuned for updates on this urgent situation, as the implications of this tragedy continue to unfold across the political landscape.
