UPDATE: A stunning shake-up in the bEASTTexas Fabulous 15 rankings has just taken place as Palestine Westwood seizes the No. 1 spot in the Class 3A/2A/TAPPS division following Malakoff’s narrow loss to Lorena with a score of 38-35. This crucial development comes as the rankings were released earlier today, marking a pivotal moment in the high school football season.

In an impressive showing, Palestine Westwood garnered 11 first-place votes and a total of 221 points. Meanwhile, Winnsboro claimed the No. 2 position, earning 4 first-place votes and 211 points. Lovelady made a notable leap from No. 7 to No. 3, while Troup surged from No. 9 to No. 4. After their loss, Malakoff has dropped to No. 5 in the rankings.

In the larger Class 6A/5A/4A division, Carthage retains its dominance, securing 14 out of 15 first-place votes and 224 points. Longview received the remaining first-place vote, totaling 210 points. The top five is rounded out by Texas High (192 points), Pleasant Grove (169 points), and Chapel Hill (161 points).

New entries in the rankings include Tyler Legacy and Canton, debuting at No. 14 and No. 15, respectively. Notable teams that dropped out include Athens and Pine Tree.

This week’s matchups are set to be thrilling, with significant games including No. 14 Tyler Legacy visiting No. 12 Marshall, and No. 2 Longview facing off against South Oak Cliff. Fans will also be watching closely as No. 10 Van takes on No. 9 Lindale, and No. 8 Gilmer faces No. 6 Kilgore.
