Tragic Car Accident Claims Lives of Two Marquette Lacrosse Players
Two members of the Marquette University men’s lacrosse team, Scott Michaud and Noah Snyder, tragically lost their lives in a car accident on Friday evening near the university’s campus in downtown Milwaukee. The incident occurred around 17:00 local time, resulting in the immediate hospitalization of three other teammates who were passengers in the same vehicle.
Marquette officials confirmed the identities of the deceased players, with Michaud being a 19-year-old sophomore goalie from Springboro, Ohio, and Snyder a 20-year-old sophomore attackman from Irving, New York. Snyder had previously attended Westtown School in West Chester, Pennsylvania. In a statement, university president Kimo Ah Yun expressed his condolences, urging the community to keep the families of the victims in their thoughts and prayers.

According to the Milwaukee police, the car crash involved a 41-year-old driver who collided with another vehicle occupied by six individuals at approximately 17:00. The authorities confirmed that both Michaud and Snyder were pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining four occupants of the other vehicle sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, with three of them being Marquette lacrosse players.

Both players were recognized for their academic achievements, having been named to the Big East Conference’s all-academic team last year for maintaining grade-point averages of at least 3.0. Snyder contributed significantly to the lacrosse team, participating in 13 of Marquette’s 14 games last season, making three starts in the midfield, and accumulating nine goals and seven assists.
