Pierre Gasly Extends Alpine Contract Through 2028

Pierre Gasly has officially extended his contract with the Alpine F1 Team, confirming his commitment to remain with the team until at least the end of the 2028 season. The French driver originally joined Alpine in 2023 under a contract that was set to expire in 2026, but he has now agreed to a two-year extension with the Enstone-based team.
In his time with Alpine, Gasly has already celebrated notable successes, scoring podium finishes at both the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix and the 2024 Sao Paulo Grand Prix. His performance has solidified his position as a key asset for the team as they navigate the competitive landscape of Formula 1.
Gasly’s Commitment to Alpine
Expressing his enthusiasm about the new contract, Gasly stated, “I’m thrilled to commit my long-term future to Alpine. As a Frenchman, especially, driving for a French car company makes me feel very proud.” He emphasized that he has always felt a strong connection to the team since joining, stating, “Since I joined in 2023, I have always felt that this team is the right place to be for the future.”
Gasly credited key figures within the organization for his decision to extend his tenure. “Flavio’s [Briatore] support and belief in me, François’ [Provost] commitment to the Formula 1 project, as well as the people we have in Enstone made this a natural decision,” he added. The driver expressed a shared vision with the team, saying, “I want to be here in years to come and deliver on our joint objective: to win races and world championships.”
Support from Team Leadership
Flavio Briatore, executive advisor for Alpine, highlighted the significance of Gasly’s extension. He noted the importance of building competitiveness within the team, stating, “We’re well prepared for the new era of Formula 1, beginning in 2026, and now we have our lead driver confirmed to bring us well into the future.” Briatore praised Gasly’s contributions during what he described as a challenging period for the team.
“I have been very impressed with his attitude, dedication, and talent,” Briatore remarked. “We look forward to continuing this project together for a long time.” With Gasly’s contract extension, Alpine aims to strengthen its position in the highly competitive Formula 1 landscape as it prepares for the upcoming changes in the sport.
As Alpine sets its sights on future races and championships, Gasly’s renewed commitment signals confidence in both his abilities and the team’s direction. The collaboration between Gasly and Alpine represents a promising chapter as they work together to achieve their ambitious goals.
