Abington Police Charge 3 Men for Drug and Gun Sales
BREAKING: Three men have been charged in Abington Township for their involvement in the illegal sale of drugs and firearms. Authorities confirmed these urgent developments earlier today, highlighting a significant crackdown on criminal activities linked to social media.
In March 2024, the Abington Police Department received reports about an Instagram account promoting drug sales in the township. Following an extensive investigation by the Special Investigations Unit, police identified 22-year-old Jaan Qadeer Bacon from Willow Grove as the primary suspect. Investigators revealed that Bacon not only sold drugs but also facilitated illegal firearm transactions.
Bacon was found to have assisted 28-year-old Nelson David Vasquez Jr. from Philadelphia in unlawfully selling a handgun. The investigation further unveiled a disturbing “trade” involving 23-year-old Xavier Smith from Dresher, where Bacon exchanged a ghost gun—an untraceable weapon assembled from parts—for a handgun with its serial numbers removed.
Arrest warrants were issued for all three men involved. On August 13, 2025, Bacon surrendered to the Abington Township Police Department, where he was processed and arraigned on multiple charges. At the time of these charges, Smith was already in custody for a separate offense and was subsequently processed for his role in this case.
