UPDATE: UFC featherweight Patricio Pitbull has just announced he will not face Losene Keita at UFC Fight Night in Paris after Keita missed weight by a staggering three pounds on Friday, October 6, 2025. This last-minute decision has sent shockwaves through the MMA community, as the fight was highly anticipated.

Pitbull, aged 38, made it clear that he would not agree to a catchweight fight after Keita failed to meet the required limit. “He should have had an easier time making weight,” Pitbull stated, emphasizing that Keita trains in Europe while he himself travels from Brazil.

In a fiery video on UFC Brasil, Pitbull expressed his frustration:

“He said in an interview he was faster, stronger and younger. I gave him all the advantages besides allowing this fight to happen here in Paris. He drove two hours to get here, so there was no suffering. His weight was low, he got here at 165 pounds just like I did.”

He further criticized Keita’s lack of effort, claiming, “Instead of trying until 11 a.m., he was eating baby food. F— you, man. If you want to blame anyone, blame my opponent.”

Keita, who was set to make his UFC debut at just 27 years old, publicly apologized for his failure to make weight. “For the first time in 25 fights, I failed to make weight, and it had to happen on my UFC debut,” he wrote on social media platform X. He conveyed his determination to return, saying, “I wanted to continue and would have given everything to make weight, but my body didn’t want to. I sincerely apologize to my fans. I will be back, like every time I fall in life.”

This incident not only impacts the fighters but also the fans eagerly awaiting this matchup. Pitbull, with a professional record of 37-8, is a former Bellator MMA champion who recently joined the UFC. He has already competed twice in 2025 and is now seeking to be rebooked for the next UFC Fight Night on October 11 in Rio de Janeiro.

The MMA community will be watching closely as this situation unfolds. Fans and analysts are left wondering how this missed weight will affect Keita’s future in the UFC and whether Pitbull will secure another fight soon. Keep an eye out for further updates on these developing stories.
