**Urgent: Thomas Arthur Hoge, Vietnam Veteran, Passes Away at 78**

BREAKING: Thomas Arthur Hoge, a respected Vietnam Veteran and long-time resident of Lindsborg, Kansas, has passed away at the age of 78. He died on August 28, 2025, at Bethany Home, leaving a legacy of service and community engagement.
Hoge’s life was marked by dedication to his family, his country, and his community. Born on June 13, 1947, in Great Bend, he served as a police officer in the Larned Police Department and was a proud member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Great Bend. His passion for fishing, collecting guns, and working on ranches showcased his love for the outdoors.
Hoge proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, participating in the Honor Flight trip that honored veterans. His commitment to service extended beyond his military duties, as he actively engaged with community initiatives.
On February 3, 1968, he married Katherine Dreiling, who sadly preceded him in death on January 1, 2007. He later married Joyce Hughes on June 13, 2008, who survives him. Thomas is also survived by three children—Tommy Hoge from Salina, Susan Hoge from Salina, and Sandra Hoge from Farmersville, Texas—as well as four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Larned, with Father Patrick Otor presiding. This service will be accessible via Facebook Live for those unable to attend in person at www.facebook.com/beckwithmortuary.
Visitation will occur on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Beckwith Mortuary in Larned, with family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.. A vigil and rosary will take place at 7 p.m. the same evening. Following the mass, burial will occur at Larned Cemetery, complete with military graveside rites to honor his service.
